Overview:
I am a bioinformatician making a bridge between people and computer hardware. I am interested in developing and applying my computer knowledge to make everyday computing easier for my collaborators. I have designed, built and currently maintain the computing system from CryoEM laboratory. Currently we have a little more than 2PB of storage and combined about 1000 CPUs, 6TB of RAM and 24 high-end GPUs, so that is a lot to take care of for one person. Currently part of the team developing Cryo-EM pipeline in the Center of Advanced Recearch Computing at the University of Southern California.

Background?
I was studying bioinformatics at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland under the supervision of Prof. Janusz Bujnicki. I did my PhD as a joined project between the University of Virginia and Adam Mickiewicz University. In Prof. Wladek Minor laboratory I have analyzed the surfaces of interfaces formed between allergens and antibodies. I gladly joined Ed Egelman’s lab and I want to use my skills to make science easier.

Where do I see myself in 5 years?
Doing what I was doing all along - helping researchers get their work done.
For fun I like to:
- take photos
- hike
- travel
